Minnesota Science Museum

Very cool overhead projector topographic visualization.

We had a random rainy Saturday and the kids wanted to get out of the house, we ended up at the Science museum in St Paul. It’s been years since I had been, it was fun to see the current exhibits and the kids had a blast. The girls loved the dinosaurs, and the sports exhibits.

Halloween

It’s October, that means pumpkin spice everything, leaves, yard work, and Halloween! The city of Plymouth has a really fun indoor Halloween event each year, girls got all dressed up and bounced, danced, and got wired on candy. Isn’t that what Halloween is all about?

We also decided to take a last minute trip to Salem!

Read// book(s)

American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road – Great story following both sides of the “Silk Road”. Covering Ross and his life leading up to his capture, and the law enforcement agencies behind the capture. I followed the story when it was happening, it was good to have a more complete view of the entire situation. This book also shows that you leave a trail wherever you go and that no matter how careful you are, there is no erasing that trail.

Permanent Record – Written by Snowden himself, it’s well done, intelligent, informative, and entertaining. This really is a story of Ed’s life up to present day. Some of the early childhood stuff got a little long but it was still enjoyable to read. If you love Ed you should read this book. If you hate Ed you should read this book.

Volbeat – When We Were Kids

Volbeat is great, they just released a new CD, this new song is just awesome (I think).

The Random Show with Tim Ferriss & Kevin Rose

Personally, Tim and Kevin are must follow people for me. Both of Kevin and Tim are smart dudes that really focus on how to be better – at all the things. The Random Show’s they put together are always some of my favorite to listen to. I always am able to get great reading recommendations, and things to dig deeper into. This episode also has some fun chatter about whiskey, travel, meditation, etc.

13 Reasons Why (season 3)

This show drew a lot of attention early on when it was first released. While I think this show is not for young kids/young adults I think the messages are important. Mental illness, bullying, peer pressure, suicide, etc. are all very real in our lives, don’t ignore it. Amanda and I have watched all 3 seasons now, and I think the 3rd is the best season of the bunch. It’s long, and feels like a commitment, and is sometimes emotionally taxing. At times I wish I could have watched it at 1.5. Towards the end I just wanted to “know”, but then when it finished I wanted more…

The Art of Racing in The Rain

This movie will make you hug your dog. Avery and I saw this one in the theater, we both left somber but fulfilled. I knew what I was getting into – Avery, not so much. This movie has a great mix of cars, love story, dog love, overall joy, and sadness. Check it out!

This print is really fun, it’s printed at 2 pieces the lock and then the safe and the door. It actually prints very solid, the door hinge and the entire lock print in place and require no supports. Overall this print is well thought out and simple enough to print on a tuned machine.
